Every year in August
we go to Lake Edward Resort
& enjoy some Herdina bonding time by the lake.
It's beautiful & fun & the kids go wild.
We love it!
As usual...we start vacation by leaving early in the morning
& stopping at Nisswa crazy days until it's check in time
in the afternoon.
We parked the car and headed straight for mini donuts!
It's vacation time & we need sugar!
Right after we scarfed down the donuts we went to the candy shop.

Dad & the boys went wild!
I stopped at the BIG shoe sale at Zaiser's
& I turned around to see this enormous dog.
Scared the heck out of me & Brock just loved it.
The boys had to ride all the rides as we walked along.
The absolute BEST part of vacation was
Tony's Donuts in Merrifield.
My wonderful sawdust donuts used to be at Rachel's Bakery in Nisswa,
but now he relocated to Merrifield
(right next to our resort)
and we stopped by almost every morning!
Thanks for the great donuts Tony....we'll be back next year.

My parents came to the resort for the day.
They sure got to relax & enjoy themselves.
Mom drank & dad went wild on the jet ski!
Lord help us all.
I think they had some fun.
Dad 'rippin it up' on the lake with Luke.
A few nights we stayed up late & played cards.
We peeked on the boys & caught them sleeping at the end of the bed
trying to catch a peek at the action in the cabin I suppose!
Breakfast! The one day we didn't go visit Tony with his donuts.

More game playing & snacks on the porch.

Everyone rode the Paul Bunyan Trail from Nisswa to Pequot Lakes
and back.
Adler & Sawyer thought the 14 miles was a little far on their bikes,
but they did it!
(was that child abuse?! haha)
We caught these two leaning on each other taking a nap during the ride!
Grandma Glad & Grandpa Ed said they couldn't do it.
They did it & love it!
Next year we may just do the Brainerd to Nisswa route.

We did a lot of jet skiing & tubing & boating.

We finally found soft foam swords for the boys
& when Vance saw how to use them
he beat his brothers up every morning.

One evening we drove to Cross Lake & enjoyed supper on the lake.
Grandma kept the boys busy with all the games & rides.
Vance needed a turn too!
The last night at the cabin we decided to have our one & only bonfire.
Juice boxes & smores...a kids dream.
Us girls realized we were all wearing hoodies.
So of course we had to snap a couple pictures.
This was our serious face attempt.
Hahaha I laugh everytime I look at this terrible picture.
Can't wait for vacation next year!
