Poop.

We've had a couple poop episodes lately.
They've been quite interesting!

About 2 hours into Adler's nap one day
I heard a quiet noise coming from his bedroom.
I didn't understand what he was saying
so I went back into his room
& I heard, "I have poop streaks in my underwear!"
I just about died.
I first laughed but then realized he was serious & upset!
So I had to compose myself
& let him know, "It's okay, dad does the same thing!"
(Luke just told me he doesn't appreciate what I wrote!)

HAHAHAHAHA

Then as we were getting ready to tackle the outlet mall today
Brock ran to his room to get the wipes.
He pooped & he wanted it changed!
(we will attempt to potty train again in a month,
he's clearly ready when he says poop & gets the wipes!).

After Luke changed him he came in the hall
bent over & asked me what the heck 'that' was.
I just saw a bump of something on our dark floor
& couldn't quite tell what it was.
Luke responded with, "It better not be what I think it is!"
I didn't know what 'I think it is' meant,
but shortly after that I hear.....
AHHHHHH IT'S POOP!!!!!

Yes, Brock somehow dropped a turd
out of his diaper & it dropped down his pants onto the floor!
GROSS!
Dispose of the turd, clean the floor, put new pants on Brock
and we were off!

Family time.

Time goes by so fast that it's hard to get together
and stay updated with friends & family,
especially when you're running around
with two little ones.
So I decided to have a little
Johnson Family Get-Together!

But before the get-together yesterday
we decided to attend the Big Lake Block Party!
And it was a blast.

We bowled.

We got our fingers pinched between bowling balls.

We coached one another bowling.

We went sliding & jumping & running.

And we ate!

Then it was time to get home to have some fun
with family!

It was Robin's birthday too!

Grandma & I.

What a nice afternoon & evening.
We'll see you all again at Christmas!

A few changes.

Now that it's getting cooler outside
things are changing inside too.

The boys and I decided we should have a
supper picnic in the basement
(while dad was at work).

Our bedtime routine has also recently changed.
The boys now read bedtime stories together,
either in Adler's room on the top bunk
or
in Brock's room on the floor.
Alder likes to read in Brock's room
so he doesn't have to share the top bunk!
Olivia has to be part of the routine too!

They each get to pick a book to read
& Adler usually picks one that quickly loses
Brock's interest.
So he harassess Livy.

Another change is we now leave Brock's door open when he goes to bed.
We're trying to have him get used to light & noise
so when he moves into the lower bunk
he's ready for all of it!
But now that the door is open & lights are shinning
down the hallway
Adler & Brock holler back & forth
to each other.
This happened for about a 1/2 hour one night
& we couldn't stop them because it was SO funny
to listen to.
Adler would holler to Brock, "Is your lawnmower stuck?"
(because they get to go to bed with a little lawnmower)
Brock would answer back, "No!"
Adler would holler back, "Well I'll help you."
And they would both proceed to make loud lawnmower noises.
Then is would start all over again.
Ahhhh the lack of sleep those two will get when they sleep together
in the future!!!
But I don't care, it's just too funny.

Just today these two figured they would pull each other
on a little wagon I used to play with.
Look who's pulling who!

And the Vikings crapped it up again
so I actually got to take a nap.
It was great!

Pre-school.

Today was a BIG day.
Adler attended his first day of pre-school.
Luke & I really can't believe it.
We made last night a 'special night'.
The night before his 'special day'.
He got to bike around the lake
ON HIS OWN BIKE.
(that's over 4 miles & he loved every bit of it!).
We were so proud of him!
He's already showing us what a big boy he's becoming.
Then after the long bike ride
we went to the local dollar store
so he could pick his favorite candy
(because remember, it was a special night).
Of course he picked a sucker!
Then night time came & I talked to him about preschool
& we even had a prayer just for school &
as we were praying all I could think about
was the day he was born
& how that day does not seem long ago,
but my baby is now in school,
so YES, time goes by so fast.
It was kind of sad to think about...

But then it was morning & he was ready to go.
Dad stayed home to make him Mickey pancakes
& he grabbed his backpack & we were off.
p.s. he wanted to wear his Vikings jacket.
I cringed, but he loved it and I guess it is football season!!!

He wanted to wear his john deere shirt on his first day,
but thank goodness he already wore ALL of them this week,
so they were dirty.
Instead mom got to pick his outfit & the first day he was supposed
to wear his favorite color : RED.

Finding his name & hanging up his backpack.
(Lightening McQueen of course!)

When we dropped him off no tears were shed,
except from his little sidekick.
He cried a lot!
I felt so bad for him.
But we were headed to the Y & he was going to have to play
without his brother.
That did not go well either.
He cried a lot!
It's been a heck of a day for Brock
& I think Adler liked his change.
(except when Brock & I picked him up the only thing he
said about school was that he was hot & he wanted to go home!)

Day before school!

This week has been absolutely WONDERFUL!
The weather is gorgeous.
So after the boys took a vote to walk around the lake
instead of stay inside & go to the YMCA
we packed up lunch, beach bags & the stroller
& spent the whole morning
AT THE LAKE!

These will be some of the last few days we get to swim
so we took full advantage of it
& we had the WHOLE beach & playground to ourselves!

Bye bye summer
& hello pre-school!
(p.s. Brockie is going to be so sad.
He already told Adler 'NO' to pre-school)

I SPY.

Have you ever played I SPY?

All the junk & well just plain weird items we have found
throughout our remodel has been
interesting to say the least.
Luke & the boys have been removing dirt and debris
from under our old deck.
Most recently, Adler dug up some 'treasures'.
He also let me know what they were
as he dug them up!

I SPY a......
necklace,
jumping spring to bounce on,
headband,
a movie
(because Adler told me, all movies are square!),
& he told me the rest was junk! hahaha

Playtime.

Playtime is so darn much fun!
And to me it's so funny to watch them.
Every time he puts his construction hat on
I can't stop laughing!
Ahhh too funny!
