Vacation 2012.

We recently took our 2012 vacation to the Brainerd Nisswa area.
Lake Edward Resort.
We loaded up a 10ft trailer & took to the road.
The drive was nice & short & the weather was in the 70's.
It was perfect.
(especially with a little babe in tote this year).

Luke's parents, brother & sister-in-law & cousins
went to the resort this year.
It was tons of fun.
We had a cabin to ourselves this year
& it was full.
I think our family will own cabin 5 for years to come.

This was how the boys' room looked all week.
Everyone jumped in the bed, watched movies & played toys.

Canoeing with uncle Luke.
Fun on the beach.
Celebrating Abby's birthday on vacation.
Enjoying a bonfire on a chilly night.
Taking a walk in the morning before hittin' the beach & neverending
desserts all day!
Playing toys on the front porch.
Uncle Shane bought 2 jet skis & we all got to enjoy them!
Luke trying to 'workout on the beach!'
View from the end of the dock.
The water is so shallow that at the end it's still only up to your shoulders!
We love it for the kids.
Grandpa Eddie finally got in the water & hopped on a jet ski!
I think he loved it.
And we will all make sure he hits the water next year.
Grandma Glad on the jetski!
Playing in the cabin.
Vance relaxin with grandpa.
Our cabin was quiet one afternoon,
while G & G's little studio cabin was full
with all their grandkids
& their own kids too.
And I enjoyed a moment of peace with just Vance & I!
Movie time.
Hanging out with dad in our cabin.
We love you cabin #5!
On our way home from vacation
we all stopped at Billy Bones racetrack.
And had ourselves some fun!
The boys also got to ride Lightening McQueen cars too.
What a wonderful vacation.
I can't wait for next year!

Threshers.

Every year we take the boys to the
Forest City Threshers show & Stockade.
As kids my sister & I have some great memories
attending these festivities & I'm sure our boys
will do the same.
The boys and I got to ride on the trolley while Grandpa Wayne & Gabe
drove the cockshutt tractor
to the Threshers at Forest City.
They absolutely loved watching the tractor pull.
We read the Tractor Mac book a lot,
which is all about tractor pulls,
so this was sure something to actually watch a pull in action!
We took a rest stop listening to the 'Wagon Wheelers'
and we loved them.
I screamed a little after each song & asked for 'more Johnny Cash'.
And the Wheelers followed through.
We also enjoyed strawberry & chocolate malts from the Thresher's building.
Then the boys wanted a ride on the train.
So grandpa hopped on the dually & gave them a ride,
along with other kids that jumped in the barrels.
Watching more of the tractor pull.
The Threshers has a lot for kids to do.....farm style.
As in dangerous swings, liability teeter totters, & old merry go rounds!
But ohhh what fun for everyone.
Grandpa Wayne also gave trolley rides around the Threshers for people
& the boys got a front row seat up top.
Then we headed over to the Stockade.
We mingled with some crazy people
who dress like indians
& pioneers,
I don't think the boys knew what to think!
G & G Johnson bought them rock candy, elephant ears,
homemade ice cream & anything else
their little eyes desired.
Forest City can sure provide some great entertainment!

Stroller rides.

The boys decided it was a beautiful day
for a stroller ride.
So after they loaded up their bunny & 'sparkles' the frog
it was time to hit the lawn & road
for a LONG stroller ride.
(they walked their babies for almost an hour!)
p.s. yes, Brock is in his underwear!  I can't keep clothes on that boy!
