Every year we take the boys to the
Forest City Threshers show & Stockade.
As kids my sister & I have some great memories
attending these festivities & I'm sure our boys
will do the same.
The boys and I got to ride on the trolley while Grandpa Wayne & Gabe
drove the cockshutt tractor
to the Threshers at Forest City.
The boys and I got to ride on the trolley while Grandpa Wayne & Gabe
drove the cockshutt tractor
to the Threshers at Forest City.
They absolutely loved watching the tractor pull.
We read the Tractor Mac book a lot,
which is all about tractor pulls,
so this was sure something to actually watch a pull in action!
We took a rest stop listening to the 'Wagon Wheelers'
and we loved them.
I screamed a little after each song & asked for 'more Johnny Cash'.
And the Wheelers followed through.
We also enjoyed strawberry & chocolate malts from the Thresher's building.
Then the boys wanted a ride on the train.
So grandpa hopped on the dually & gave them a ride,
along with other kids that jumped in the barrels.
Watching more of the tractor pull.
The Threshers has a lot for kids to do.....farm style.
As in dangerous swings, liability teeter totters, & old merry go rounds!
But ohhh what fun for everyone.
Grandpa Wayne also gave trolley rides around the Threshers for people
& the boys got a front row seat up top.
Then we headed over to the Stockade.
We mingled with some crazy people
who dress like indians
& pioneers,
I don't think the boys knew what to think!
G & G Johnson bought them rock candy, elephant ears,
homemade ice cream & anything else
their little eyes desired.
Forest City can sure provide some great entertainment!
