Daily rig-a-ma-roll.

Playing firefighters & train conductors after our visit at the
Big Lake fire station.
We've been playing more games together.
The summer seems to be so busy that we didn't have much chance to
be inside playing games.
We're in full force now though!
Headbands is our latest favorite.
Adler couldn't get to bed one night because he said,
"I can't stop thinking about playing headbands!"
We've recently converted Vance to big boy reading status.
That means...when it's bed time all the boys sit on the rocker
& we read books together!
Vance totally knows he's reading a big boy book
& he smiles & babbles the whole time!
It's pretty sweet.
Vance also feels like he can sit on the stools like his brothers.
Scares me a bit, but he loves it.
Brock got a backpack for his birthday and he carts it around
(with his gifts in it) all day.
Vance took notice & grabbed another backpack & wanted me to put it on him!
He smiled from ear to ear.
Adler decided he needed to get in on the action too.
Brothers wanting to be like each other.
Ahh I love it.
So happy to be a big boy like his brothers!
Brock found a black band in the garage & it quickly turned into his headband.
He wore this night & day & I couldn't stop laughing at him!
Still wearing that headband.
Helping dad grill supper on his new Weber grill!
While dad was not watching Vance decided to get his hands on the egg carton!
So then dad had this mess to clean up!
(I just laughed!)

6 & 4

 We celebrated Adler's 6th birthday & Brock's 4th birthday
this past Sunday.
The boys requested a Planes cake this year
& since I have not seen the movie the boys had a say in what they wanted
the cake to look like.
It turned out to be the race with a runway & finish line
with Dusty winning the race of course!
Our family loves parties, especially the food!
Everyone in the pictures seems to be lounging around with a blanket.
I'm finding that very funny...heck several people even took naps! haha
Glad to know our house feels comfy.
The Geers family.
Don't you just love this picture! haha
The older cousins helped read birthday cards & keep things in order.
Olivia was thrilled to have her favorite people there to snuggle with.
Vance wouldn't leave Aubrea alone.  Poor sweet thing.
He was out of hand kissing & grabbing at her.
We had a crew of Turtles running around the house all afternoon.
It was wild, loud,& fun.
Round 2 for the part food!
Supper time for those that hung around til later in the evening.
Adler got this 'how to draw' book & just loves it.
He really can draw all the animals in the book too.
I was quite amazed & this good idea.
Happy Birthday boys!

Nelson Farm.

We got back from Duluth Saturday afternoon.
Then Sunday we went to Litchfield to go to Nelson Farm for a little Fall fun.
Every year the farm keeps getting better & better for the boys.
Our animal lover couldn't stop petting the little calf.
But how could you blame him?
They he had to hold the chicks of course.
Mom & the trolley coming out of the wooded trails at Nelson Farm.
Having fun on the lawnmower carts.
Tackling the balance beam.
Swinging in the hayloft.
Driving thee 'ol combine.
The crazy carts!
More balance beam.
We got a little backed up testing our skills.
& we ended the day in the play area again.
Then Brock realized he should climb the big hay bale.
Getting to drive the horses with grandma.
The team ready to give rides.
Aunt Erin decided Vance needed one more ride behind the lawnmower.

Duluth 2013.

Our family recently took a trip to Duluth.
Luke attended a conference & the rest of us tagged along.
Lucky us!
We went during the Fall 'peak' week & got to enjoy the beautiful
Fall colors on the trees.
The drive there & back was just amazing.

We arrived Thursday morning eager to check in to the Edgewater waterpark.
Knowing we would be early we stopped at Grandma's for lunch
& then hit up the chocolate shop.
The boys had a great time looking around Grandma's restaurant,
riding the motorcycle,
& squishing pennies into Duluth artifacts!
Visiting the chocolate shop.
Just as we were about to leave Canal Park
we were pleasantly surprised when a BIG ship came cruising in.
And the boys got to witness the lift bridge in action.
They were amazed...& so was I.
No matter how many times you see the ships, watch the bridge,
look at the enormous lake, take in the sites at canal park,
it's always a great time.
One of the big highlights was swimming at the waterpark,
but honestly...the boys loved everything we did in Duluth.

A picture tradition going down the yellow slide!
(except each time we visit we keep adding another boy to the family fun!)
The boys & I walked the trail along Superior & I wanted to see the train go by.
Sure enough...just as I say that the train went by!
Next time we're taking a ride on that baby.
While Luke was at his conferences during the day
the rest of us got to have fun with all the shops, play areas, and pools.
We did a little bit of everything & loved it all.
Here's another ship heading out to sea.
The boys & I went to play at Adventure Zone.
They had a great time playing arcade games, jumping on inflatables
& running around like WILD!

While we were at Adventure Zone I became the master of the ball machine.
I won each boy a ball.
So of course we had to go check-in to the next hotel, The Inn at Canal Park,
to play with the balls!
We always get ground level so the kids can bike around, we can play yard games,
walk to the bonfire pit for smores & run to the lake as often as we want.
Did I mention...we love visiting Duluth!
Here is the view right outside our room.
When dad arrived back from his conferences he helped unpack the rest of the car,
for the 2nd time!
(since we wanted to spend time at the waterpark & canal park)
Octoberfest was hot & heavy the weekend we visited
so we all joined in on the fun.
There were a lot of parents with kids
(assuming they were other conference families)
& we all had a riot dancing & drinking to one of the
best polka bands!
We also got to go to the Aquarium as part of the conference group.
We got the whole place to ourselves,
along with drink & desserts!
In the tree house at the Aquarium.

After a late night at the Aquarium,
we got back to the hotel, put on our jammies,
& enjoyed some smores right on the lake at The Inn.
Our friends the Hanson's also went to the conference
& we got to spend a lot of time with them!
Ingrid enjoyed the smores too!
Surprisingly the night was warm & calm & absolutely beautiful.
We didn't want to go to bed!
Sitting by the fire.
Running around by the lake-late at night!
Biking the trail.
Checking out the lighthouse.
View of the lift bridge from the lighthouse.
We had yet another wonderful trip to Duluth.
We'll be back for sure...& next time we're going to make sure to
go farther north to Gooseberry Falls & other sites.
