A lot going on.

It feels like we have been so busy lately.
It's the kind of busy feeling where you don't have time to
chat with friends or
make a playdate.
And the problem is I know it's not going to slow down
anytime soon.

We found out that Adler got into a really great preschool.
It was decided that he would go 1 day a week starting in Sept.
and then 2 or 3 days next year.
After that we pray, pray, pray that he gets into
the Montessori school starting in kindergarten through 6th grade.
Gosh it would be so nice,
but I can't think about it because it already
drives me crazy (since only 25 kids make it in through a  lottery system!)

Brock has had a couple nights when he just does not
want to go to bed.
So when Adler goes to bed at 8pm
I get Brock out of his crib to enjoy
another round of storytime
before going to bed a second time.
Brock loves being in Adler's big bed
especially when he knows he should be in his crib!
That little stinker.

Every morning our bedroom looks like this...
kid-dog-kid
& cartoons of course!

With the nice weather we had for a day or two
(before the snow came again!)
the boys decided they wanted to eat outside.
Brock loves being a big boy now because he gets to do all the things
his brother can do, because last year
he was still a little too small.

What a fun spring and summer they're going to have,
especially Brockie!

We've also made several trips to the park too.
Some new playground equipment
arrived at the beach and believe me we'll be playing there
everyday this summer.
Adler already wakes up asking if we can go
to the beach!
We can't wait to walk around the lake, lay in the sand
& play in the water.

We celebrated Huntley's 30th birthday last week.
It was such a classic....opening the dumbest gift from the guys.
Mary, Joseph
AND
Baby Jesus!

Baalson & Shane informed us they found them
sitting all alone at a garage sale
and wanted to rescue them
for such an occasion
Nothing better than a used gift!

Huntely's helping baby Jesus celebrate his birthday too.

I also recently attended the ENORMOUS garage sale
they have in Monti every year.
Adler gave me strict instructions to find him some 'footed pj's'.
I told him I'd try.

When I walked in the door after the sale
he asked me right away if I found pj's...
and what would you guess?
Footed pj's and they're even Thomas!
He didn't take them off for 2 days
(after I initially washed them of course!)
I had to snap a picture of him during his nap.
He sleeps like a hotdog.
He's such a hoot.

I was glad to see that our pond finally has no ice on it.
After Olivia's incident we now will have to chain her up every year
until the ice is gone.
Regardless of it's potential danger,
it is such a beautiful backyard!
Who wouldn't want their own ducks & geese swimming everyday?!
(Reminds me of the ducks on Funny Farm, one of my favorite movies!)

This is a typical scene in our yard....
bare buns!
Boys will be boys.
Thank goodness they can pee so easily outside
(and that we live on a cul de sac so others don't have to witness it)
because we would have to run inside a lot
and who wants to do that
when you're having fun outside?!
I think it gives our 'old sweet neighbor guy' across the road a good laugh though!

We had a bit of a situation this week...
What could Luke be doing you ask?

Well he taped every possible broom stick, rake stick, paint stick and anything else
together to form this beautiful 'ball pusher-outer'!
Adler & Brock were playing soccer with the neighbor kids
and it accidentally got kicked in the drainage pipe.
I thought I could hit the little soccer ball
out of the pipe with my hubby's (apparently expensive) basketball
but of course the only thing that accomplished was getting two 'important balls'
stuck!
So dad saved the day for Adler
(because he's obsessed with his soccer ball)
& Luke was lucky enough to get his bball back too! haha
I laughed so darn hard because people were out walking and
they looked at Luke like he was crazy!
It was so funny!

Then dad brought the boys down to our lovely fall apart shed
and around the yard to the swingset.
For some reason we tend to just walk around our yard,
go down to the pond,
look at the leaves, branches, and other junk
still laying around
and we end up behind the house trying to figure out what
we should try to beautify and landscape next
and how much money it's going to cost.
That's when we forget about it
and go back inside!
(until the next day when we do it all over again).

Easter will be in one short week,
so it was about time we dyed Easter eggs
& started to talk about how Jesus rose way up in heaven.
Adler was quite concerned &
told me last night that he doesn't want to go there (up in heaven)
and that he wants to stay at home! haha
ohh the things they say.

Dying eggs was not such an easy task this year.
Brock had to be involved in EVERYTHING.
It was a mess, but it was fun to watch.
Of course I caved in and bought the more expensive Toy Story
decorating egg kit.
And they loved every bit of it!

a little side note:
See that plate in the picture below...I just found it at an occassional
antique sale in Monti this week.  This plate was JUST like my grandma's
set and I remember them fondly.
I visited an antique place the week before and asked if I could just buy
one plate from their mixed match set and they said no (those buggers!)
and luck has it, I found JUST ONE plate this week.
The exact same plate and only $1.99!
I feel in love, smiled BIG and had to tell the story to the
girls I bought it from.
They loved the coincidence too!
I mean who has just one plate and tries to sell it and that someone like me
would actually buy it?
It was SO meant to be.
What are the chances?
Thanks whoever is watching out for me.
I will use the plate for all special occassions (like for Easter eggs!)

Here's their final product,
complete in their own 'real' egg basket
(from grandma Pearl too!).

On Saturday we went to the Easter Egg Hunt in town.
We took a picture with this scary bunny
& ran off to fill our baskets!
Even though it was snowy & freezing outside.

It was great...none of the kids wanted to put the eggs in their basket.
All of us parents had to keep coaxing them to throw eggs in.
They wanted to take ONE,
open it,
and stop to eat it.
Finally we collectively decided to just start picking them up and
putting them in their baskets,
because it would never end if we didn't!
I love this age where they could care less.

Today we took a trip to the Children's Museum.
Luke & I love that place....
I suppose the kids do too!
Brock enjoyed grabbing the legos and throwing them.

Adler & I built a BIG castle with BIG legos!

Then Brock insisted that the carpeted ramps to walk up were slides
& he was NOT interested in leaving the tumbling area.
We told Adler to grab him and pull
so we could get out of there and onto the crawling ant tunnels!

Playing in the water &
splashing whoever was around them!
You would think I would somewhat control them,
but I didn't care!

They always love the water exhibits.

We finished off the busy afternoon by eating lunch
at Wild Bills.
We'll never go there again,
but if you do, get the ribs..they were good,
but don't get the philly, it was nothing special at all!
Sorry Billy-but we love Granite City
when we have the kids along.

A lot has gone on in the past week
and the next couple weeks consist of
Easter, vacation, working outside to get our yard more pretty,
and then summer will be here
and we'll be busy at the beach!

What a life!

Brock.

Mr. Brock decided to fall asleep just as we
drove into the garage.
He usually always wakes up when I start
getting him unbuckled,
but this day he stayed sleeping.
So I plopped him on the floor & left him sleep,
until his brother & Livy
came to lick & poke his face!
Poor Brock-y
can't catch a break!

So what do you think is going on here?

This pic is showing how pesky Olivia can be!
Brock is trying to eat his snack on the floor
& Olivia is pawing & scratching his head
so he's aware the he could sure give her some snack too!
(you can even see her pawing his shoulder in the pic!)

p.s. Olivia did NOT have the best weekend.
She did not come back in after we let her out Saturday morning
so we all called for her & she fell through the ice on our pond.
Needless to say I had a full blown heart attack
& Luke ran to try to save her frozen little self.
In the process he froze,
but everyone is still living.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

2nd times a charm.

Our family had another busy weekend.
Luke's sister got married
to his brother's best friend
who is also his sister-in-law's brother!
Figure that one out.
They are SO great together
& we're so happy for both of them
& the kids.

We dropped the boys off for a sleepover
with G & G Johnson.
They were excited
& when we picked them up
after a night away from mom & dad
Adler kept telling us he wanted to come back
& stay ALL DAY again.
Then we drove off & Adler yelled to his cousin
(who of course was playing in the mud, water hole in the yard)
"I love you Gabe".
They sure must have had fun.

We did too! (without kids!)

The bride & mother-of-the-bride
taking a shot of Jager!
Don't you just love Nate's (Luke's brother) face in the background?!
He ordered the shots.
It was entirely out of hand!

Luke & I on the party bus on the way to the hotel.
Luke had a few too many....can't you tell! ohhh boy.

The party bus....
this was shortly before we stood up
with the karaoke machine & all started
singing 10 bottles of beer on the wall
(& talked about some sort of skinny dippin' escapade
in the pool when we got back!). haha

My hubby & I.

A quick chat with the bride!
(The Jager shot was shortly coming, little to her knowledge)
