Rally Day.

Every year at the start of school our church has a Rally Day.
Our boys just love it.
It's a time to eat, play, and have lots of fun!
This year the boys decided to participate in the Box Car Races.
They were so excited to make their cars
& race them!
Thanks Saron for making back to Sunday School fun for our family.

The night before Camy, Angela, Great Grandma Elois, & Grandpa Wayne
stopped by for spaghetti & dessert.
The boys loved seeing everyone.
(haha nice face dad!)
The next day it was Rally Day.
We loaded up the race cars & headed for church.
Great grandma also came to church & stopped by to watch the races.
There's grandma in her sporty new vehicle!
We picked up grandpa from the field so he could grab a bite
to eat & watch the races too.
Vance sure thought that was great!
The boys' cheering crew.
On your mark, get set, GO!
And they're off...
and they're still runnin...
Then dad decided to take a stab at it.
He won....poor kids didn't stand a chance against the old track star!
Grandma showing her excitement of the boys' stuffed animal prizes.
They just love grandma Elois!
Rally Days 2014 was a success.

Corn hauling time.

We have been lucky this past month to have Grandpa Wayne
working in town.
He has been hauling corn & the boys have been reaping the benefits.
We get loaded up in the van & I ask the boys if we should call Grandpa
& see what field he's at.
Then we go field searching around Big Lake & find the big red semi.
The boys have loved seeing the whole corn pickin process
& now they want to go to the plant in Cokato
& see the rest of the process of getting the corn into the cans & onto the store shelves.
How fun for us & Grandpa to see each other so much.
But now they miss Grandpa because the corn hauling is over for the year.
We had a little McD's break with Grandpa on one of the days we saw him.
Grandpa's semi for the corn hauling season.
Vance sitting with Grandpa in the semi.
That little man never wanted to leave the field!
Picking a few cobs for supper before the picker went by.
Trying to throw the cobs into the trailer.
I think the rest of the pickers & haulers
knew all about those grandsons coming to the field to visit Grandpa all the time!
Watching the picker do it's work.
Grandpa would bring them up close to check it all out.
We hope Grandpa works close by next year!

School.

The last 2 weeks have definitely been a transition.
A transition that we are still trying to all get used to.
Brock started his 2nd year of preschool at Agape Christian Preschool
Adler started 1st grade at Becker Primary School.

It means that we try to get to bed earlier,
we wake up earlier,
we repeat barking orders to put clothes on, brush teeth,
& to not forget your backpack!
We pack a lunch, cram in breakfast, give final hugs & kisses
& daddy loads our 1st grader into the car
to drop him off every morning
(mom is really thankful for that step in the process!).

Then for the rest of us left at home...
I repeat what Brock has to do to get ready for school
we all load up in the big van
& we walk our preschooler into the church.

At this point, Vance & I stare at each other missing our boys
and figure out something fun to do together until pick up time.

I need to remember to cherish these quiet moments before
another little one joins the family!

Brock was so excited to start preschool.
He's so darn sweet.
Adler got to go with Brock on his 1st day to school.
They were both so happy to see their Agape teachers again!
Brock is ready to go play.
He was a very good role model for his older brother
who desperately needed to see how fun the 1st day of school can be!
Giving good bye hugs!
(remember, this is just as big as adjustment for mom as it is for Brock!)
Dad made sure he could bring Brock to school too.
We all sure love dad's priorities...making sure his family is loved on
during these special moments.
Adler had his 1st day of school the next day.
We prayed for this little boy.
He was quite nervous.
He informed me that he just wanted dad to drive him to school
& based on how his conference day went a couple days prior,
I was willing to accept anything that would make him walk in the school doors!
So I had to take just 'at home' pictures,
not the fun ones of him walking up to the school, honking the horn goodbye, etc.
We were proud of him.
He walked in the door.
He survived.
Then he surprised us even more and decided to keep going back to school! haha
Thank you Lord!
Here's to a good school year
& some quality time with Vance & mom!

Labor day.

Labor day weekend is always a good time to relax & enjoy the weekend
before school begins & life becomes a lot more crazy.
This year the Geers family came to visit us
& we all had a good time.
A good time to us means...running around in our underwear! haha
Levi was entertained by all our boys & just joined in
where he could.
It was time to brush teeth & Levi was not going to miss out on the action either!

The boys & I decided to go for one last walk around the lake
before school started.
The weather was so nice on labor day weekend.
And I knew that tank tops & shorts were going to be quickly short lived.
For Vance this is going to be very sad.
He has been addicted (& I mean addicted) to wearing
this particular tank top & shorts.
If he spots them in his closet
he takes off his clothes & puts these on.
I on the other hand, was very happy to pack them away for the cooler weather!
(p.s. he saw me put them in a tote to go downstairs & just cried!  Poor guy)
Ohh yeah...& he loves those socks!
