Christmas....a little early.

We had our family Christmas a little early.
Because like every year
we celebrate with grandparents, aunts, uncles,
and all of our crazy cousins!
p.s. Adler can't wait to play!

Brock got a new tool set.
He loves it and shares it very nice with his brother
(Adler asked Brock tonight if he could keep the tools in his room!
I think Adler told me that Brock said yes.
Of course he did!)

Dad teaching Brock about the tools.
Olivia seems to be supervising!

I opened a few gifts and they're absolutely WONDERFUL!
I wanted this chip/dip pottery for awhile now.
A local lady makes them and a bunch of other things.
And I got a couple wooden spoons.
Ohh thank you Jesus for being born
so we can celebrate your birthday and I can get some neat stuff!

By the end of the night our house was a mess
and it was great!

Merry Christmas!

A few new tricks.

Brock has learned something new.
Something that gets him into trouble.
And makes mom nervous.
But what do you do?

He's figured out how to climb onto the couch,
then he climbs on top of the couch
to sit next to Livy.
Here's what I caught him doing the other day.
Waving out the window!

Then he caught me taking his picture
and gave me a BIG smile!
He's always smiling,
except for when his ears hurt,
more teeth are coming,
and he's coughing.

So here is daddy giving him another at home check-up.

Then Adler thought he needed a check-up too!
Of course, because whatever one does, they both do.

Then after the ear check-up it was time for some meds.
So antibiotic & nebulizer here we come.
And we're already feeling better!
(Thanks dad.)

Brock has been into his dr. kit lately.
I think he's checking his own progress!

Mr. Adler loves helping me put away dishes.
Gosh I love him.
Too bad he has not realized he'll be doing this
for many many years
and I don't think he'll enjoy it so much
like he does now.
So I'm taking pictures to remind him
of how much he loves to help me! haha

We love Jesus!

No one really tells you how to teach your kids about God.  So I guess Luke and I do our best and go with the flow!  Now that Adler is a little older he's got a few things down that God would be proud of, because I sure am.

Earlier this week we got a visit from what looked like a innocent elderly couple (ohhh I miss seeing elders on a daily basis!), but turned out to be a God hater.  He was apparently wearing a hat and trying to show me a few passages from the trusty bible.  Like his bible is anything to trust.  Anyway...I caught on pretty quick and informed him that if he does not love God then he is not welcome to preach to me at my front door.

How disrespectful..... what nerve.....
First of all, him and his wife ( I'm surprised they did not bring a herd of innocent children or grandchildren to lure people in, as if that work's anyway.  I only get more mad when they do that and so does Olivia....I should train her to bite on command!) stopped by during lunch, during the Christmas holidays, and during a day when it was freezing outside which made my house cold as I kept the door open while they tickle-dicked around the fact they were God haters!! EERRRRRR

As I shut my door in their face Adler looked at me and asked, "Who was that guy with the hat?"  I told him that they did not like Jesus.  Adler then replied, "That's not nice!"  Ohhh what a good boy!  I was a proud momma.

Okay, onto the better parts of Jesus that occur at our house.
We say prayers with the boys everynight and Adler makes sure to pray for particular people every night.  99% of the time Grandpa Wayne is included, but tonight he prayed for, "mom because she got her hair cut and dad because he needs his hair cut, Brocky because when he gets older he will get his hair cut and for Olivia."

Thank you Jesus for such a great family.

Amen.

Having fun at home.

Boy do we love being at home.  Don't get me wrong, I would very much go crazy if we did not get out of the house on a regular basis, but boy do we all (Luke excluded!) love waking up and not having to be in a rush to go anywhere.  I'm so thankful for my hubby for bringing home the paycheck so we can play, play, play all day!  The boys say, "Thanks daddy!"

I just realized that the boys have their pj bottoms on still.
And of course the 'Bob's' are on Adler's feet.
They're having a little snack time
while Olivia stays close by for the hopeful drop
of goldfish or raisins!
What a treat.
I often find her eating their snack if they leave it unattended
for a couple seconds.
Then we have snack time again.

The latest craze is to climb (well I mean...jump) on
Adler's bed and attempt to
climb up the rocking chair to get on the bed.
There have been several bumps and a few shed tears
as a result.
Boys will be boys!

More climbing!
p.s. I LOVE gap pj's.
They can clearly be worn during the day
and they're so darn cute & comfy.

Why do they make most hard hats without the
adjustable strap inside that makes it fit to size.
Plastic slips and slides all over and does not
stay on their head.  What a waste.
But because they love these hats so much,
they're getting another one included in their
tool set for Christmas.
It's sure to be a hit!

He loves being goofy.
And he loves this hat.
(especially when Adler wants to wear it)

And I love his puffy cheeky smile when he's goofy.

Change.
Change is so hard.
Especially when you don't want your morning nap anymore,
but can't quite make it to your
afternoon nap!
Little stinker.

As I told you before, we make cookies weekly (at least).
Here's Adler enjoying the dough.
Again.

Was this a scene or what.....
First of all, as usual my mom was Mrs. Scrooge
and said she was not going to have a tree this year
(like she says every year)
Drives me crazy!
Because as you know I love Christmas.
So I was pleased to hear that they received a donated tree
from my sister & her hubby
who cut it down for them from someone who wanted to
get rid of some trees, it was time to decorate this mammoth!
(Think of the Griswold's on National Lampoon's! haha)
Mammoth as in this tree is probably 15 feet tall
and has to be placed in the middle of the dome
to fit in their house.
Needless to say it's beautiful,
but how were we supposed to decorate it?
Well, you grab grandma's 'grabber' thing, a ladder, and
a good lookin man to reach way up to the top.
With MANY lights & ornaments broken
in the process.
It was quite the show to say the least.

Brock enjoys the rocking chair at G & G Johnson's too.

Adler had a lot of fun recently helping Grandpa plow snow
in the bobcat.
We even had to pray for Grandpa a few nights because
as Adler says, "I want to pray for Grandpa because he has a big
bucket for his bobcat!"

Then there are the days that Brock does make it through
lunch without a little snooze to hold him over.
This day he particularly wanted to play & not eat.
So he rubbed his plate of food on his head.
I can even see a chunk in his hair!
What a funny boy.

And he clearly knows he's pretty funny too!

So we had to take a mini shower to get the
food out of his hair.

Then they thought it was play time,
when it was very much naptime
for both boys and mom!
I'm feeling a little better now finally.
So my daily job productivity is increasing
slow but sure!

A couple days ago, we got a special treat....
Grandma Yvonne, auntie Erin, and cousin Gabe
stopped by to play.
Erin was in charge of watching the boys in the bathroom
so I gave them each a push up and bubbles
and told her to keep it under control!!!
HAHAHAHAHA
Brock had chocolate everywhere as you can see.

I love chocolate.
No one could take that thing away from him either.
Stinker!

This is what went on at our house tonight.
Adler & Brock feeding each other 'puppy chow'.
It was so funny.  Brock just kept his mouth open
so Adler kept putting more in his mouth!

Then I realized what he was doing.
Adler filled Brock's mouth so full that it gave him
an opportunity to scarf the rest down
without other little fingers grabbing at more!

I know, I know....."Thanks mom!"

It was a afternoon for haircuts and cooking!
I gave Adler a haircut.
And no I'm not good at it, but who cares.
Probably just as good as great clips?!
Then I got a hair cut too.
I love the salon I go to in Monti.
Great stylists and the best atmosphere.
They have you lay back on a leather chair with
ottoman to kick your feet up & relax as they wash your hair
and then they give you a 5 minute
neck massage too.
AHHHHH
What a nice little get away!

Then the boys woke up and we started cooking
so we can deliver our 'goodies' to our neighbors tomorrow.
The night consisted of caramel corn, puppy chow,
choc. chip cookies, and fudge!
What a night.
Adler is already excited to deliver the goods tomorrow.

And to top it off.....here's Luke making his fudge
after making a trip to Target for a
few ingredients I forgot! ooops.
Ohh gosh, what a hubby....he's so funny.
Look at him!
Who smiles like that and makes fudge?! Haha

We've been up to a lot.

The past few days have been, well quite the past few days!

Yes, I'm still not feeling the best, but I decided the boys and I
were still going to get things done and that we would
get out of the house!
More on that story later.

I just found this picture from my relative and wanted to post it
because everyone says I look so much like Brock
and this picture sure shows it.
(Sorry it's not so up close, but I lack a scanner so I can't
put any old pics I have that are better face shots).
This is a picture of me when my crazy mother took
me to Alaska to spend time with family.

THURSDAY:

We've been busy baking and baking and baking,
just so we can bake some more in a week or so
when we deliver our homemade Christmas goodies
to our neighbors.
I told the boys we were going to make banana bread.
They were so excited (hence Adler's smile!).
Adler said he HAD to sit on the counter to watch the mixer
and of course Brock had to be close by too.

This little smiler kept telling me he was SO excited
to eat banana bread.
And boy did he eat alot.
Brock too.
Also dad.
3 loaves and 1 was gone that same day.
My aunt Camy's banana bread recipe.....the best!
Except I tend to add several types of nuts and chocolate chips.
(this is Adler's typical smile lately...what a goof ball)

Brocky has been busy playing with 'Livy' any chance she lets him.

FRIDAY:

He's also been busy playing with shipping boxes
with all the online holiday shopping I've been doing.
I love the simple things little ones enjoy!

We've also been busy baking homemade sugar cookies
with my Grandma's old cookie cutters
that I remember so fondly growing up.
(Adler at least gave me a one-eyed smile this time!)
He was even more excited to flour, roll, frost & sprinkle cookies
than he was baking bread!
Imagine him jumping around, clapping, and saying 'yippee'.
It was so joyous!
I think his excitement secretly won him
a few more cookies too.
How could you resist?

SATURDAY:

We lived through a big snowstorm this past weekend too!
Luke and Adler had a fun time snowblowing
and playing in the snow.
(I'm so thankful to be able to enjoy when the snow falls.
I would previously be in constant hope that our
maintenance man would make it to town to plow out the parking lot
and that all the other staff would make it to the nursing center
before I got the priviledge to drive the 'ol pick-up around and work all shifts.
It was always very interesting when the snow flew!)

SUNDAY:

And then we decided to get out of the house.
And when we did venture out it was quite the evening....

Let's just say the boys were running around the store,
giggling, tripping, hiding,
then a coughing episode followed (Brock),
I picked up Brock,
he screamed because he likes to run around lately,
someone announced to everyone in the store
that they had to pee (Adler),
Luke and Adler started for the door to find a bathroom,
(which are few and far between at the outlet mall)
I was barfed on ALL over,
several times,
I bellered for Luke to help assist,
Luke grabbed the barfee (Brock) and was barfed on ALL over,
several times,
Adler peed in the mall parking lot,
(by this time we didn't car if he peed on the store floor)
and I drove home with just a bra on,
due to barf everywhere,
including in my hair.
Imagine that...like I said it was quite the evening.
Sorry no picture to that story!

MONDAY (today):

Today was a lot of fun.
Cousin Gabe stopped by for a little playdate.
And the boys played and played.
(Do you think Brock is teething again! What a drooler!)

Then it was a night for just Brock and mommy.

Because Adler and daddy had a date.
A date at the library to make
their very own gingerbread house!
Adler kept telling me all day how he couldn't wait
for dad to get home so they could go.
How fun for him to get dad all to himself.

This is the end result.
Adler was excited to show me all the detail.
Brock wanted to know where Adler and dad went.
But when they got home he didn't care anymore.
He just wanted to eat that house!
And the boys did.
(Don't worry, we have a gingerbread train to make
closer to Christmas time.)
Ohh I love Christmas traditions!

And just like every night, Adler ended his day
watching a Christmas movie with one of his
best friends laying beside him!
