Fall fun.
This Fall has been a lot of fun for our family. Last year at this time Brock was just born so we were pretty much at home and inside all the time. So this year we took advantage of the area 'family fun events' and the outdoors.
Luke and Adler carved our pumpkin this year.
Grandma Yvonne came to spend the night after work to play with the boys.
And the boys decided to throw leaves on her!
Brock absolutely loves playing in the leaves.
And lucky for him....we have a forest for a yard!
Playing outside. Brock can't wait to drive the gator next year.
Grandpa & Grandma Johnson came to cut down trees in our yard.
Don't worry...we only have hundreds left!
This is how the boys watch Sesame Street in the morning.
Adler got to ride in the 'real' combine a week ago.
He let dad know that he needed a gravity box to do his farming (and he got one for his birthday!).
What a fun fall! Ranger rides with grandma and grandpa, amazin farmyard, nelson farm, yard work, a lot of visits from family and friends and ...now I can't wait for Christmas!
They love John Deere!
Adler and Brock had their BIG birthday party this past weekend. It was so much fun. Adler requested an Elmo cake since we all watch Sesame Street every morning. So with that request, we had a Sesame Street theme, but he also wanted Bob the Builder and John Deere too! John Deere really needs to get with whole 'party scene' and make some plates, table cloths, balloons, etc. because little boys would just love it! Thank goodness they make cute shirts and toys though....because the only thing we've been wearing and playing with since their birthday is John Deere. I've realized one really wonderful thing about having boys is dad feels completely obligated (but loves it too) to play farm and tractors every night. This gives mom a nice break from the action!
Adler loves his John Deere blanket I made him!
He has been watching me sew it and waiting for it to be his ever since I started making it.
Added bonus...we even got to open up gifts in our new basement!
Great grandma gave Adler a Bob the Builder pillow which he loves!
Elmo and Cookie Monster cake I made the boys.
Blowing out their candles.

Time for some cake, maybe.
We recently celebrated Brock's 1st birthday with a little 'lunch party' that consisted of Adler, Luke and I. I attempted to make a boxed cake with canned frosting. Needless to say it was a complete FLOP....literally as I was trying to stack cupcakes together they flopped over and as I tried to frost the cupcakes the frosting was so hard and thick it ripped off the top and sides and it flopped onto the plate. The only thing I could do was quietly giggle and hand it over to Brockster, knowing he would not care what it looked like or tasted like. Then he proved me wrong! As he grabbed the frosting it stuck to his hands all over that he was upset. Ahhhh my attempt at his 1st cake was not a good one, one I hope to not repeat. I did add a few colorful sprinkles to cover up the mayhem that existed on the plate.
The bad part is that I bought a bunch of the boxed cake mix and frosting thinking I could go the easy route for the actual big party (plus it was on sale!), but knowing how bad it turned out I prayed I still had that darn Target receipt (for we all know I despise Target's return policy) and I would return ALL of it (which is what I did). They asked me if anything was wrong with the cake and frosting and I told them they should not sell this bad food and that Duncan Hines 'sucks' and their frosting is worse! haha

Our first blog.
The time has come! After reading several blogs over the past year I decided I might as well 'join the bandwagon' and start blogging. I am big on keeping journals (especially for the boys so they can look back and see all the milestones and events in their life they might otherwise not remember, me included). So instead of buying another journal for our own keeping as Luke and I grow older (more so a journal of the things Luke and I do as a couple or as parents, etc.) I thought I'd start blogging!
As I was attempting to figure out how to start a blog the electricity went out and our night became a little more chaotic until bedtime (to say the least!). You realize VERY quickly how much we rely on electricity to do everything and how much you value candles, not just for their scent, but for their light. I was silently thinking of 'Little House on the Prairie' and how they lived without electricity.....ohh yikes. The thought of playing games by candlelight was enough to set me over the edge, but something that I was mentally getting prepared for....until the electricity came back on right as Luke walked in the door from his long day at work. Thank you Lord! Well now that I can get back to our blog....I best look over all of its features. For those of you who know my technology skills I'm sure it will be very blah for awhile, maybe for the whole blog experience!
