When September arrives our home gets filled with all sorts of emotions...
happy, sad, excited, anxious.
It is finally registering that summer is coming to an end
& the home will be a little less crazy
with the start of school.
I love being home with the kids every day.
And this year I'm down to just a trio with my two littlest ones.
Brock was headed to every day kindergarten.
He's is such a kind hearted, easy going, sweet boy.
I was really going to miss him.
But in the same token, it was fun to watch him rush off to school
with excitement so he could be just like his big brother.
And Adler loved the role of being"big brother"
at school. We told him to watch over Brock,
help him to his class, & tell him how things go!

(I still was limping all over from my bike collision.
That healing was sore & slow.)
Once Vance, Vivie & I ate breakfast & got dressed for the day
we made it a daily event to go for a walk down the road,
talk about nature & other random sweet things
& head back to put Viv down for her morning nap.
Then it was time for Vance to pick a few books & head outside to the swing
for an hour of reading.
He loved it & I loved it.
When it was finally time to pick up the boys from school
I had to wake up both little ones (which is so hard to do!)
& throw them in the van so we can be early & in the loop for pick-up.
We were all excited to talk about their first day of school.
Brock told me how he saw Adler in the hallway & he gave him a high five!
It was so sweet to hear.
Adler took on his role as "big brother" at school seriously.
Thanks buddy, that sure helps out mom.
Spending time with dad.
The Brown's stopped over to play
& the girls got to have a little playdate on the swing!
Rise & shine...ready for our morning walk!
Our old dvd player no longer worked, so it was time to hand it over
to our 3 destructors for smashing.
Whatever keeps them busy, right!
This picture is a good depiction of
Life of a dad with 4 kids!
September was also the start of flag football.
Which means it was time to pack up books & toys & a blanket
for the kids that were not playing or practicing.
This year we had 3 nights a week.
I'm sure in the future we will be out there 4-5 nights when all the kids get into sports.
YIKES!
Vance & Vivie are definitely pals.
He loves to be by her wherever she it,
even if it's sitting by her while she eats.
One Friday we went to Olivia to watch Conner play football.
The boys got to run around with their cousins & see a high school game.
Conner & his cousins that came to watch him play.
Conner & his uncles.
Giving grandma's living room a kids makeover
& having lots of fun!
All the boys piled in the van to make a trip to the farm!
Vance & dad having fun.
Having a bite to eat at DQ before leaving.
My little farm boy & his side kick Amelia.
We stopped at G & G Johnson's on the way home
& Vance got to hold one of Uncle Joe's bunnies.
I don't think he could believe what was happening! so sweet.
The Johnson farm always involves ranger rides.
Having fun at church.
Every weekday Vance, Viv & I take our morning walk down the road.
This particular day, he brought binoculars to take in the sites!
Relaxing on the swing after our walk.
Rub-a-dub-dub, three brothers in the tub.
At the end of the month, we decided to join Grandma Yvonne & Uncle Joe
to Nelson Farms for a day of fall fun!
We all LOVE that farm.
Zipline time.
(can't wait til we get one at our home)
The dark hay maze...otherwise known as the death trap.
Can't believe they did it. I'm still traumatized from when I was young.
The crazy lawnmower barrel rides through the woods.
We ride that thing a few times!
Adler reading Vivienne's favorite book (touch farm book)
More football. Brock showing off his spiral!
Brock's birthday!
He wanted to open a gift before school,
so we gave him a camera! He's been wanting one for awhile.
Then we brought him a happy meal for school lunch
& invited Adler to eat with us too.
Grandma Yvonne stopped by & gave Brock a grain bin & semi trucks.
The boys worked in their fields all afternoon!
