Myrtle Beach, SC.

Luke & I were very impatient to get on vacation....
and the boys were just happy to get an airplane ride.

We took 2 planes there & 2 planes back.
During a little layover in Chicago
the boys played like wild at the Children's Museum
at the airport.
Whoever invented such a thing at an airport
is a genius!
It completely wore the kids out
so they slept the entire next flight.
It's was heaven for us and all the people
sitting next to us.

The museum was all about airport 'stuff'
with control towers and all.
They ran & ran
& acted like 'gas filler-uppers',
pilots, control deck crew, landing team
and everything else!

This was our best shot at a family ocean picture.
The boys were running around crazy at the beach.

We were kind of in the 'hot spot' for Myrtle Beach.
There was a lot of ocean recreation like the parasailing in the background,
jet skis, tubing on a big long raft, fishing at the pier,
and lots of arcades (which reminded me so much of karate kid
and looked as though they have not changed since the 80's!), amusement  rides,
swim shops, unique places to eat & tons of attractions.
It's such a great spot to vacation!

There was a lot of playing on the sandy beach ALL day.
And lucky me the boys always asked dad to make sand castles!

Both Adler & Brock LOVE the ocean.
(It gave me a heart attack at times!)

We stayed at a resort with a gazillion pools, bowling alley,
arcade, restaurant, pool side bars, and whatever else
one might need....and we used it all!

Most resorts have the suites set up with 2 sleeping rooms,
kitchen, and balcony to the ocean.
Which means a great vacation for mom & dad.
The boys slept in a different room from us
and it was great.
They did keep each other up for awhile playing,
but they loved it too!
We heard Adler scolding Brock for waking up
(even though it was time to get up)
and telling him to lay down & get back to bed.
It was so funny listening to him!

We took an early morning walk to the pier
& had a chat with some fisherman.

Dad & the boys walking on the pier.

Having fun at the inlet!

This picture depicts how we felt everyday...
our hair was crusty & matted from the hotel water & sunscreen,
our bodies were sticky & dry from the sun & sunscreen,
& they just wanted to be naked.
Can't blame them, I too gave some vacationers a good show
through our window!

Having fun at Broadway shops.

Then we took the boys bowling for the first time.
They had a blast.
It was way past bedtime,
but we went anyway...
and we all survived
even though it was out of control
most of the time!

Yay....a spare!

Trying to patiently wait for their turn to bowl!

It was a little rainy one day so we headed off to the
Children's Museum for a little entertainment.

Can you find Adler?!
(he couldn't quite reach the farmer head)

Most of the restaurants (especially at the inlet)
have live bands & entertainment.
So when you vacation with kids it's perfect.
They can make all the noise they want and run around
and no one could care less.
This particular eatery had a specific children's area with cartoons & slides.
What a hit!
(p.s. it was a graffiti restaurant hence all the marks on the slides!)

pooped out!

We were vacationing during Cinco de mayo
& there was a huge outdoor party with Edwin Mccain & some other bands playing
& tons of beer!

It was a foggy morning the day we left,
but we decided to enjoy the beach one last time.

The side view from our room.

Bye Myrtle Beach....we'll be back again!
